Inside the Museum there are two rooms with reclining tables. The “Jerusalem Biblical Meal Room” is a copy of one discovered at Pompeii. The “Mount Zion Biblical Meal Room” is a replica of one discovered at Herculaneum. Both of these ancient cities were destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Italy in 79 C.E., and they offer an example of First Century culture.

The Biblical Meal is a four-course meal consisting of 15 different food items, including soup, salad, fruit, main course, dessert and all beverages (grape juice, water, or wine). Your guide will explain ancient meal practices including Passover and the Last Supper, and the setting of the table for reconciliation.

The highlight of any visit to the Biblical History Center is a walk through the Archaeological Replica Garden where full-scale reconstructions of structures relevant to daily life in Biblical times bring history to life.

Four areas of ancient life are represented in our Archaeological Replica Garden: Life of the Shepherd, Life of the Farmer, Life of the Village, and Roman Theater and Market Street.

The $43 price includes the Biblical Meal, a guided tour of the Archaeological Replicas as well as admission to the Biblical Life Artifacts Gallery, which houses 250 biblical period artifacts from the Israel Antiquities Authority.

The Biblical Meal will begin at 12 Noon (Georgia Time). Allow at least three hours for the meal and guided tour.
